Quality Assurance

Phoenix Medical holds ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications, reflecting our focus on product standards and responsible environmental practice. Our partnered manufacturing facilities follow strict quality controls at every stage, supported by a fully traced supply chain. Each batch is issued with a Certificate of Analysis and is tested for authenticity, heavy metals, microbes, and other key indicators of quality. Our Phoenix brand acupuncture needles and clinical equipment also go through a detailed 27 step inspection process, ensuring consistency and dependable performance.
Research and Clinical Collaboration
We actively support evidence informed TCM through research partnerships with leading institutions around the world. Our contributions to academic and clinical studies include supplying products and assisting with trial design for projects such as the rUTI study and the ORCHID study. As the UK project lead for a UK–China government funded herbal medicine research trial on COPD from 2019 to 2023, we coordinated the herbal dispensary, product supply, and quality control for the formulations used in the project.
Education and Professional Training
Education is a central part of Phoenix Medical’s work. The Phoenix Academy of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine offers accredited training, continuing professional development, and diploma programmes for practitioners across the UK. In partnership with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, we provide an accredited three year Herbal Medicine Diploma that combines classical TCM foundations with contemporary professional practice. More than 1,000 students have taken part in our courses, taught by senior clinicians with many years of experience.
Global Sourcing and Product Innovation
We take pride in developing innovative products supported by responsible sourcing. All our herbs follow the DaoDi standard, cultivated in their traditional geographic regions under suitable growing conditions. Our concentrated herbal granules are produced using advanced spray drying methods that help preserve the character of the raw materials. As the exclusive European distributor of DaoDi granules, we ensure that each batch meets EU testing expectations and GMP production requirements.
Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility
Phoenix Medical is committed to sustainability and ethical practice. We hold ISO14001 certification and have introduced an environmental action plan that includes recyclable granule packaging made with 25 percent less plastic. Our corporate responsibility efforts also extend to ethical labour standards and partnerships with organisations such as Animals Asia to help end bear bile farming. In addition, we support healthcare related charities by donating acupuncture kits to NADA addiction relief clinics and taking part in volunteer initiatives.
